Helen | Lynnwood Newborn Photography
This darling baby loved being snuggled close to her mama or swaddled up tight, but she was able to capture a few winks alone. She was just lovely sleeping, all wrapped up in her vintage baby blanket. So pretty!

Baby Bailey | Renton Newborn Photographer
This sweet little girl looked so cute in her handknit hat I could have died. This is one of my favorite photographs from that session. Try this: stretch your arms over your head and see how far above they reach. It never dawned on me how babies' arms are so short until I saw her posed like this. What a doll!

Tender Moments | Tacoma Newborn Photographer
It's always good to go into a shoot prepared with ideas in mind so that I know what I need to get, the rest is up to baby. This little guy tried doing a switcheroo on me, tried to foil my plans. Little did he know I've been there before and have grown accustom to flying by the seat of my pants. And even though I didn't get all of the things I had planned to, I am so in love with the images we captured. My favorite is the tenderness shared between the new family. It reminds me of moment Gustav Klimt would paint if I may be so bold.

Grace In Seattle | Bothell Baby Photography
Grace is one of my favorite baby names. It makes me think of a peaceful beauty and elegance, just like this little angel.

Little Vinnie | Duvall Newborn Photographer
Grandma was expecting to get little bambino, and although his daddy has that dark Italian look, this little guy has softer features like his mama. At just two weeks old, Vincent was sleeping like a champ and didn't seem to mind the fussing and prop changes. Isn't he just beautiful!

Hannah | Seattle Newborn Portraits
You might recognize a few of these lovely faces from their wedding I photographed a few years ago. Now Molly & Charles have something even more beautiful to celebrate and her name is Hannah. That thick dark hair is courtesy of her mommy and daddy. I couldn't help from picking up her little brush to smooth it. She was an absolute delight and slept heavy for much of her newborn session.

Baby Kaylee | Puyallup Newborn Photographer
I must preface this post by saying this tiny baby girl is perfect and gorgeous in so many ways. But just yesterday I was talking with a parent of a newborn about how babies have general lack of muscle control. Sometimes they get momentary crossed eyes, and it's oddly adorable. I never know how a baby is going to be when I photograph them. Some are sleepy, some are wide awake, and as you can imagine, they exhibit every emotion in between during a session. This day I captured the afore mentioned eyes, as well as baby smiles, tears and a few tender moments with mom and dad. Thank you Kaylee!

Baby Audrey | Bothel Newborn Photographer
Momma found this adorable sock monkey hat, crocheted especially for a baby girl in pink and grey, on Etsy. Since they come in so many shapes and sizes, "newborn" size should be used loosely when dressing babies, it is generally not accurate. This was the case with baby Audrey who at first had her little head smooshed into a size too small hat. I thought her cute wrinkled face was a result of the hat being too tight, but once mom cut the back of the hat open and her little brow didn't unfurrow, her little scowl made me melt, but even more, she has cute monkey toes to match! So much cuteness. Congratulations mom, dad & big sister!

Newborn Baby Sister | Des Moines Portrait Photographer
I met Lexi's beautiful 12 day old baby sister last week and haven't had a chance to post about her yet. She was not only perfect for photos, she also wins the quietest baby award. Not a fuss and hardly a peep out of her the whole time I was there. Lexi and Kitty modeled her pretty Etsy dress. The adorable owl mobile, I just had to share. Mom found that on Etsy as well.
Congratulations Michael & Missy!

Baby Max | Renton Newborn Photography
I keep saying there's something in the water and this time it's in my zip code. He's a natural and smiled for me more than once. My heart get's all melty looking at this sweet boy in his baby bear hat. Welcome to the neighborhood Max!

Swaddled Baby Lucas | Bothel Newborn Portrait Photographer
I was starting to think I was getting the cold shoulder from newborn Lucas, but mom and dad knew exactly what he wanted, and that was to be snug as a bug. When I photograph newborns, I think of naked bums, tiny toes, naked bums, little hands, naked bums. So, if you didn't figure it out already, yes, I wanted to strip baby to his birthday suit and do photos. He wasn't having it. Thanks to some expert shhhushhhing from mom & dad, and a lovely power nap on daddy's belly, baby was ready for the session the way he wanted it. Warm and bundled up.
