Brad & Christine

Last Saturday there was a break in the chilly wet weather. It came just in time for family and guests to arrive for Brad & Christine's wedding.
They had planned an intimate gathering at the Kent Memorial Park building, a quirky little place with a colorful mosaic tiled on the wall outside. It turned out to be a great backdrop for some fun photos.
Shannon Carpenter, of Beyond the Garden Gate, created a beautiful bouquet of purple tulips and pink roses for the bride and boutonierre to play up the colorful striped tie Brad wore.
It was a casual affair and the couple greeted many of their guests, not sticking to the tradition of hiding the bride away before the ceremony. Everyone was seated, and then with a glimmer of tears in her eyes, Christine was walked down the aisle by her daughter. Congratulations you guys!

Sunny

Maybe it's the sun, or that I'm editing a wedding of one of my favorite people, but I'm getting excited about the upcoming wedding season. While I'm in here working on photos, my little helpers are busy taking advantage of the much needed vitamin D.

Isaac

Sweet little Isaac had a big night out before his photo shoot but was awake for me most of the session. He snuck a 10 second snooze, just long enough for me to catch this photo sporting his darling Giraffe suit grandma crocheted him. Don't you just want on in your size? If this isn't black mail material, I don't know what is.

Isaac is just 5 days old here and hasn't had a chance to fatten up and fill out yet. See those cute little arm wrinkles?

I love this, so tender.

Lauren, Aiden & Baby

It's that time of year and I keep hearing people belly ache about eating too many Girl Scout cookies. Well, I have no sympathy for them, this mama is overdue by a 1 1/2 weeks and counting.

 

I love this one. Who says pregnant can't be sexy?



    Babies big brother is stoked and ready for the big visitor to come out and play.

Equality




I photographed a wedding in Philadelphia a couple years ago. It was my first time to the city, and what a wonderful city it was. History wasn't one of my favorite subjects in school, but being there in "the city of brotherly love" surrounded by cobblestone, neighborhood parks, a wide range of architechtural styles, the liberty bell, the constitution, Ben Franklin, the steps where Rocky trained, in short, it was pretty amazing. One day, I've promissed myself,  I will go back and really explore that city.
The big thing that stood out to me was this, and reminders are written all over the city, and it's from our founding document, the Declaration of Independance:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. "

We've all heard this, most of us believe it, many of us live it. Unfortunatly many are still not allowed to live it, they aren't viewed as equal by the law.

Spring


We've been all sunshine and flowers here in the Seattle area. One could almost call it warm. Almost. But then yesterday it went a little haywire. You know how when you wash your car and then it rains? It was like that. I labored for 3 days in the yard; raking, digging, raking, raking more and finally spreading out seed. I popped in to check the forecast to see what my watering schedule looked like for the next few days and there it was,  talk of chilly weather, snow even. Pshaw, it's been beautiful. 
Yesterday ole Punxsutawney Phil had a laugh on us!
