Immogen Cunningham - Seattle Art Museum

Immogen Cunningham's work is currently on view at the Seattle Art Museum. She is probably most well known for her beautiful image of a magnolia blossom, but her work took her many places including photographing for the Farm Security Administration during the Great Depression and for Vanity Fair. Her work has always been an inspiration to me and I'm looking forward to a field trip to see it!

Charlie

Charlie is no stranger to the beach, but he's been spoiled with sugar sand and sunshine in Florida. We dodged the rain, but it was still pretty chilly out at the Mukilteo beach. Everyone but Charlie noticed, he was busy discovering the gritty northwest sand, the seaweed and then the sand again. At one point while Charlie was putting a sand covered rock in my mouth, I looked over my shoulder and mom's mouth was covered, but the horrified look said it all. Mom & dad kept calm and let me get a few choice shots of the sand eater before rinsing off. Luckily he'd eaten a nibble just before the beach, otherwise it could have gotten ugly. More of Charlie's adventures can be seen on his own blog, and if you have time, you must see his video http://peatreedish.blogspot.com/2009/10/look-out-theres-baby-on-loose.html.

Charlie

What a fun day! Being a mom, Kelly is the one always taking photographs of little Charlie. But seeing how quickly he's sprouting up, she didn't want to miss having a few photos of them together. We set out for a fun morning mixed with peek-a-boo, swings, wrestling and feeding the ducks. Kelly is the coolest mom and wrestled in the grass to get a smile out of this guy. Not something everyone would do, given Greenlake has many ducks. It's a day that I wish I could have with my mom all over again and hope Charlie remembers what a great day it was!
