Lilah

I know I over use the words cute, adorable, beautiful and OMG way too often. How else can I describe such a darling little girl?
Grandpa & grandma, you can see more of Lilah's shoot here http://www.pictage.com/778160

Kat | Tacoma Senior Portraits

They say it got up in the 40's today, but if you were to ask me or Kat, we'd say a high of 25. It was so cold out!
Kat froze her hiney off, but she made sure we got the shots we needed. How cute is she? More of Kat's photos will be available here as soon as my hands thaw out.

Jungle Luv

All of these gorgeous flowers and plantings are by Jungle Luv Plant Care in Stanwood, who are not only talented, but great fun to work with. You might remember Nadim & Rebecca's West Seattle wedding at the Hall at Fauntleroy. These are the gals that made the stunning bouquets, boutonniers and added their signature Jungle Luv look to the rest of the event.

The Jungle Luv team started off a busy day of photos with decorating their tree to be auctioned off at the Gifts of the Season charity Christmas Tree auction. There was tinsel flying, holiday cheer and everything in between as a room full of people got their trees and trimmings ready for the gala event. The room was dazzling at the end of the day and we can only hope the auction was a complete success.

Next stop was the Tulalip Resort and Casino. It's a gorgeous hotel and true as their words, "a perfect balance of contemporary style and traditional Northwest Coast Salish artwork and textures". If you get a chance to visit, check it out. And while you're there you can't miss the stunning plant installment at the base of the huge totem poles, or the poinsettias tucked in every corner. There are plants everywhere in this hotel which softens that contemporary edge and adds a green northwest flair.

We followed the day along with a trip to the Angel of the Winds Casino, Skagit Valley Hospital, and then a quick trip back to Comcast Arena to see the finished trees. A whirlwind of a day, but with gorgeous results!

Baby it's cold outside!

It's been so chilly out, but the cold does some beautiful things!

Twit or Tweeter?

I've yet to really understand the whole online social networking, but I keep this blog, however loosely. And even though I hardly go there, I Facebook and Twitter occasionally. I try not to get sucked in, as it mainly seems like a time sink.
I'm always excited to hear stories from couples on how they met, how they got engaged. Sweet stuff like that. I came across
this story about a groom updating his Facebook status just before he kissed his bride. Tweet, tweet. True story.

Lexi

There's nothing like going to the beach when it feels like snow! Lexi was prepared with this darling elfin hat her mama knit for her. Isn't she the cutest!
Lots more of her sweet photos are at http://www.pictage.com/768193

Gavin

Parents always surprise me with what they'll put up with for a great shot. We all braved the rain on this one, but the little guy got the worst deal. He looked so cute in his little dinosaur raincoat, but was cuter standing in a puddle. With shakey new legs, he did so good stomping in the puddles, but made my day when he eventually decided to sit down and take a load off. You would think there would be instant tears? Nope, he just sat there. I think he liked it too, that was the funniest part. What a cutie!

Karin

I love it when little one's show up to a shoot with their best pal, in this case Mr. Bear. It was adorable to watch her shake, kiss & drag Bear all around the park. More of Karin and her cute teddy bear can be viewed here.

Anna & Valentina

Anna cracked me up and calls this Valentina's "Chucky" look.

Studio portraits can be so decieving. The reality: Elmo on tv, a two year old running around, friend working the fan to get the wind blown look, two year old trying to stick fingers in the fan, and even though she's wearing a scarf and sweaters, it was hot! The rest can be viewed here.

Savina

This little one was a trooper. We went out and braved the cold along with mom and dad at the Woodland Park Rose Garden. It was cold, it didn't last long, and if you ask Savina I'm sure she would say it wasn't fun either. We managed a few moody shots, then moved indoors to thaw out her little piggies. All she needed was her bling and her pimped out ride to cheer her up. What a cutie!

Maura

It was a frreeezing cold morning at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. I felt so bad because she doesn't stand on her own yet and everytime we put her down for a photo her little bum had to be cold. But would you look at that cute baby-doll face? And the vintage poncho? Yup it was moms first! More of cute little Maura's photos at http://www.pictage.com/751630.

Immogen Cunningham - Seattle Art Museum

Immogen Cunningham's work is currently on view at the Seattle Art Museum. She is probably most well known for her beautiful image of a magnolia blossom, but her work took her many places including photographing for the Farm Security Administration during the Great Depression and for Vanity Fair. Her work has always been an inspiration to me and I'm looking forward to a field trip to see it!

Charlie

Charlie is no stranger to the beach, but he's been spoiled with sugar sand and sunshine in Florida. We dodged the rain, but it was still pretty chilly out at the Mukilteo beach. Everyone but Charlie noticed, he was busy discovering the gritty northwest sand, the seaweed and then the sand again. At one point while Charlie was putting a sand covered rock in my mouth, I looked over my shoulder and mom's mouth was covered, but the horrified look said it all. Mom & dad kept calm and let me get a few choice shots of the sand eater before rinsing off. Luckily he'd eaten a nibble just before the beach, otherwise it could have gotten ugly. More of Charlie's adventures can be seen on his own blog, and if you have time, you must see his video http://peatreedish.blogspot.com/2009/10/look-out-theres-baby-on-loose.html.
