Brian + Trinity | Tacoma Engagement Session

Trinity was a bridesmaid at one of the first weddings I ever photographed back when I was an assistant.  And then she popped up at another, and then another, and yet another. Love is in the air Tacoma! It was a wonderful surprise when she sent me a message saying that she herself was engaged to be married and they wanted me to photograph their own wedding.

We put their engagement session on our calendars, with crossed fingers for good weather, and waited. It turned out gorgeous. Yes is was cold, but they had each other to keep warm.

Downtown Tacoma was our main location. The old buildings provide a lot of character and you don't have to go very far before stumbling upon another inspiring area to photograph. After a bit, and just before the sun went down, we hopped down the road to the newer Chambers Creek park. It's a huge place with waterfront access, grassy fields, a dog park for their big puppy Alice, and a golf club, perfect for holding a wedding reception. I can't wait to shoot there.

These two seem so comfortable with each other. When I asked Brian what that thing was about Trinity that made him know she was the one, without hesitation he said "She is handsdown the coolest, funniest and most beautiful girl I've ever known or dated." Melt!

How do you say "I Love You"?

We’ve all heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, and I’ve taken thousands of photographs or the years. I am always in awe and speechless when it comes to the love I’ve seen. I've photographed newborns, newlyweds, even those with heartache and loss. It always comes back to that simple word that means so much.

Happy Valentine’s,
xo Jen

Proof Book

Although I currently don't have an example of the linen hardcover to share, the inside of this book is similar. These photos show a soft cover with an image on front, also available in hard cover, and numbered images inside. I no longer choose to have the photos numbered, as they are more of a keepsake than an actual proofing book. These are perfect for budget conscious couples or those who want a book of photos to share the whole wedding.

Brett & Emily

Early snow in Ballard neighborhood of Seattle made this wedding photographer happy. Engagement photos can be spontaneous and taken outdoors or in the case of rain, in my photo studio.

Kyle & Alison

Golden Gardens is one of the big hang outs on a beautiful day in Ballard area of Seattle. The day we did Kyle and Alison's engagement shoot the sky was grey and we could see the rain cloud making its way closer across the water as we began. Kyle took Alison into his arms and the two magically transformed those moments before the storm like they were models at a high paid job. The photos came out beautifully and never once did they complain. Their wedding photos are almost ready, so check back soon!
